In 2023, Tasmanian Youth Orchestras was able to operate without significant pandemic impacts for the first time since early 2020 – and what a difference that made! Being able to make music in something like a ‘normal’ environment meant TYO had a busy and successful year, in which 216 young musicians and singers – 48% of whom were from public schools – participated in TYO programs, comprising 282 rehearsals and a total of 25 performances to live audiences of 7878 people, with seven digital performances adding further audience reach of 19900+.

Read all about it and meet our 2023 musicians in the TYO 2023 Annual Report

The TYO 2023 Annual Report is also available digitally as separate Year in Review 2023 and TYO 2023 Annual Financial Statements documents.

TYO acknowledges the traditional owners and continuing custodians of lutruwita/Tasmania. We pay respect to the Aboriginal community today and to their Elders past and present. We stand for a future that profoundly respects First Nations stories, culture, language and history.
